Celebrating our year six children's achievements
It was great to be able to meet with all the year six children yesterday with Rev. Sami to speak to them before their SATS week that starts on Monday.
We wanted to remind them of how proud they should be of all the things that they have achieved and contributed to the life of St John's in the time that they have been here. They have all been so focused and conscientious in their work this year and although next week will bring its undoubted nerves and concerns we wanted to remind them that the week is not a defining moment of their time at St John's. SATS results do not define their identity or their self esteem, it is something to be worked for and to give their best to, but what really matters is who they are, their whole journey and all the things that they have achieved.
They are an amazing group of children who we are all very proud of and we know that they will leave us at the end of the term prepared for all the challenges and opportunities that the years that follow will bring. We are sure that they will leave St John's with so many great memories and with a real sense of achievement, next week is part of that journey, but it is most certainly not the most important or memorable!

As we sat in the sunshine around the school pond, Sami prayed for them all. It was a moment of stillness and reflection of what really matters in our lives.
