The road ahead.
As we start our new school term, we will be reflecting on the fact that in many ways we are all starting another journey together. But when we start it's always good to first look back. Our final assembly last term focused on being thankful for all that we had shared and enjoyed in the last academic year. So as we start our new academic term we will be pausing to reflect on what we are thankful for from our summer.
We will also be taking the time to reflect on the fact that for some this summer has brought much heart ache and difficulty and that as we come together for the first time we need also to remember them in our prayers.
Our assemblies this week will then help us to prepare to start this journey by taking the time to consider the things that we need to remember.
Each of our assemblies will focus on one aspect of being prepared.
On Tuesday we will remember that we do not travel alone. God is with us, but he also gives us other people to travel with us.
On Wednesday we will remember that we need help and guidance when we travel. This can come from God through the Bible, but also through others. We need to be prepared to listen and to consider the advice and support of others as we journey together.
On Thursday we will pause to remember that prayer is an important part of our journey, that God wants us to share our journey by engaging with him through prayer.
Finally, on Friday we will remember that we need to encourage others as we journey together. That the way we act influences others and therefore this is essential to the outcome and success of our journey.
Our on-going theme for this term will be that of peace and how essential prayer is as we seek to learn and work together.
We look forward to sharing our journey with you over the coming months.
