This week in STEAM we have been using LED lights to make a lighthouse card which flashes. We used conductive thread and weaved this through small holes that had been provided in the card around the outline of the lighthouse. On the other side of the card there was a small circuit board with a hole for the coin cell batteries we were using. Once we had finished weaving the thread through the holes we carefully attached the conductive thread to both sides of the circuit board . Next we placed an LED light through the two holes at the top of the lighthouse, once connected we could make the lighthouse flash - just like the real thing!
