Next Thursday we will be gathering together at Church to
mark the important act of remembrance. This is always a very special service as
we reflect on the sacrifice that so many people have made to enable us to live
in the freedom that we so enjoy in our country.
Equally though, we also take the time to remember those who
are or have been important to us in our own lives. Those who have made a
difference through their love and care for us. Remembering is such an important
part of life and this week plays a significant part in our school calendar. Our
moment of silence in the playground is a very powerful witness to the importance
that those we remember hold in our lives.
Over the week the year six children have been selling
poppies and this money will go to support those who have to live with the
consequences of those who have lost their lives in the service to their country
or have been injured or affected in many other ways. They in particular are a
focus of our prayers this week.
