Leavers assembly

Today we all joined together with parents and other family members to celebrate the time that our year five children ,who are leaving us this term, have had whilst at school.

Our assembly encouraged them to look back and to remember, but also to look forward and to move on in confidence to make the most of all the opportunities that their new schools will bring.

Each child was presented with a book and their work folders and a few tears were certainly shed!

In addition we also said goodbye to the staff that are leaving at the end of this term. They were each presented with a lighthouse to remind them of the light that they have brought to children's lives and the light that they will take with them.

Attached to each are the words of an Irish blessing that we use at this time of the school year, it reads:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand
