Year 6 end of year production

An amazing performance last night that had the audience in fits of laughter and tears!

So many wonderful sketches and songs that reminded us what it really is like to eat in a posh French restaurant, what infant children really think about their parents and school and how not to ask a young lady out to the school disco! In addition, rapping Red Riding Hoods, stressed out teachers and the usual challenges of collecting dinner money and permission slips for trips, all made us smile.

The presentation was a real testimony to all the hard work put in by the children and staff and the final song had not only the audience struggling with the tears, but the cast as well.

A great way to remember the last two days in school for our year 6 children. We are all proud of what they have achieved and contributed to our school and we wish them well as they begin the next part of their journey.

Foundation's bumper crop!

FS2 dug up their bumper crop of carrots, potatoes, spring onions and lettuce yesterday. Thank you to all who gave a donation at the end of the day to take them home.

Party in the playground

Today the PTFA organised a party in the playground for the whole school!

A wonderful annual event that includes bouncy castle and slide and the opportunity for the whole school community to picnic together on the field at the end of the day. As ever it was a huge success and our thanks go to those who organised it and helped run it so smoothly.

Leavers assembly

Today we all joined together with parents and other family members to celebrate the time that our year five children ,who are leaving us this term, have had whilst at school.

Our assembly encouraged them to look back and to remember, but also to look forward and to move on in confidence to make the most of all the opportunities that their new schools will bring.

Each child was presented with a book and their work folders and a few tears were certainly shed!

In addition we also said goodbye to the staff that are leaving at the end of this term. They were each presented with a lighthouse to remind them of the light that they have brought to children's lives and the light that they will take with them.

Attached to each are the words of an Irish blessing that we use at this time of the school year, it reads:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand

Wotta Lotta Bother rehearsals

Year 6 performance rehearsals are in full flow this week as we prepare for the big event on Thursday evening. The singing and drama is all coming together and it's great to see the children growing in confidence as they take on the parts under the careful guidance of the year 6 teaching team.

Full dress rehearsal tomorrow afternoon to the whole school is eagerly anticipated!
